Falcon Crest

Falcon Crest was one of several popular nighttime dramas that aired in the 1980s. The series were notorious for their season-ending cliffhangers. While Dallas and Dynasty focused on oil barons, Falcon Crest concentrated on California wine country and ran for nine seasons. Its popularity extended outside of the United States. The show was particularly popular in Europe and still has an active German fan club.

David Selby joined the cast of Falcon Crest as Richard Channing during the show's second season on October 1, 1982. He remained a member of the cast until the final episode, which aired on May 18, 1990.

Thus far, Warner Bros. Entertainment has released the first three seasons of the show on DVD in the United States. David appears in the Season 2 and Season 3 sets (paid links). Although there is no word on a fourth season DVD release, the fourth season of Falcon Crest is currently available on iTunes and Amazon Prime. Additional seasons are unavailable for purchase at this time.

As of September 2024, viewers can stream the entire series for free on the ad-supported Plex streaming service.
